Physical Activity and Community EmPOWERment Program
Project Overview
The PACE study aims to identify factors influencing physical activity levels among adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This research involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team and community partners to develop and evaluate tailored interventions that promote health and well-being in the IDD community. The study focuses on understanding the unique challenges and facilitators of physical activity within this population, with the goal of informing effective and inclusive health promotion strategies.
Roles and Responsibility
As a postdoctoral researcher, I lead the qualitative research aspects of the study. Specifically, I oversee:
Establishing and training a coding and analysis team
Overseeing the analysis of 57 participant focus groups and individual interviews
Developing a structured coding framework
Leading the coding and analysis process to ensure rigor and consistency
Synthesizing qualitative findings to generate meaningful insights
Presenting and publishing results to advance knowledge and inform practice
